Annette Arlander
Annette Arlander, DA, is an artist, researcher and a pedagogue, one of the pioneers of Finnish performance art and a trailblazer of artistic research. At present she is visiting researcher at Academy of Fine Arts University of the Arts Helsinki with the project Meetings with Remarkable and Unremarkable Trees. Her research interests include artistic research, performance-as-research, site-specificity and the environment. Her artwork moves between the traditions of performance art, video art and environmental art.

On the Edge
2020
On the Edge was performed for camera on 3 November 2020 with a pine tree on Örö during an Öres residency, as part of the project Meetings with Remarkable and Unremarkable Trees. “On the Edge I” (9 min 27 sec) is one of the videos. The triptych “On the Edge I-III”, consists of three video stills on aluminium (à 40 cm x 70 cm).
