Puhdas Valkoinen
Pure White
Osa teoksesta / Excerpt from work
The work is a part of an installation/monologue Puhdas valkoinen / Pure White. It deals with a banal culture of war, transmitted from fathers to sons, and a whitewashed national history. Why did I know already as a kid the amount of machine guns installed onto a Me109 German fighter plane? Why do fed up users on the Vauva.fi forum (‘baby.com‘) demand debates on Nazi Germany to be moved to a separate thread? How would life look like in Greater Finland? The installation starts from the premise that bypassed history is not just history, and seeks to find ways to confront violent imagery in an exhibition space without reproducing its logic.
